Fireworks

 

I was learning about onomatopoeia and where you could use it in your writing.

I showed kairangi in my writing by taking my time and stopping to think what I should add into my poem.

 I showed whai whaiwhakaaro in my writing by making it interesting and adding alliteration similes.

Ancient Creature

 

                                

 I am focussing on being a communicator and being able to share my ideas through writing.  My focus was to share my ideas by making it interesting and easy to read.  

I use a variety of sentence starters and I used a couple of similes to describe the creature to the readers and my sentence starters make my writing interesting.

I need to work on adding more description to my writing and I will do that by learning more ways to write descriptively.  

Famous New Zealanders

 

I  was a researcher by researching how Albert Einstein changed the world and what he sacrificed.

I was a communicator by asking questions of my topic and spending time trying to add details to my story.

I showed Excellence in my work because I got my work finished on time.

Next time I need to reread my writing and remember what the teacher said to me about checking my writing makes sense.

Then and Now

 

I was part of the class that asked questions of Mrs Leggett about what it was like in the olden days. This was me being a Researcher.  I learned a great question needs a question mark, is open ended and needs more than yes or no to answer and had to be something we did not already know.

  It was hard to describe what their clothes looked like in the past  and what cars were made from in those days.

I showed kairangahau because I organised my information onto the slides in a way that is easy to read and understand.

I enjoy adding images to me learning to show what I know and to make my reader think about what it looked like in the past.

I am a self manager.  I show kaiwhakarite by being organized and knowing what to do because I completed this task on time.  When I think myself as a learner  I know that I can be successful on a device and I chose a learning table where I can focus.

Early Arrivals in New Zealand

We were learning about who discovered New Zealand first and how they discovered it. 

I found it easy to add the colour to the background because I liked to change the colour and merge it with other colours.  

I found it hard to talk about how the whalers hunted the whales and what they used to kill them. 

I enjoyed writing what I needed to write because it felt good researching how life was tough back then.     

Next time I need to research on one web site so I don't waste any time and when I'm writing I should pay more attention to my facts that I have recorded in my notes.  

Life in Aotearoa New Zealand

 We were learning about species, adaptation and evolution.   

I found it easy to polyline the fox and the tails because they were all together so I could colour the fox easily.  

I found it hard to write the description of the fox and to fit it all on to the page.  

I enjoyed shaping the fox into the shape as it is now.  

Next time I need to describe the foxes fur and its habitat because it will make more sense and add more description.   

My Change Poem

We were learning about - What is change to me?

I found it easy to talk about What is Change and  how does it affect me.

I found it hard to write the poem down because the ideas didn't make sense when I wrote them.     

 I really enjoyed putting the background on the Change poem because I like to change the colour.

Next time I need to be faster at writing the poem. 

Where I learn best

 We were learning about how to describe where we like to work and why we like to work there.

I found it easy to write and describe where I liked to work.

I found it hard to take the right photo at the perfect angle and perfect place. 

I really enjoyed explaining why I chose that table and why I liked it.

Next time I need to take a better photo and read the writing.
